Your wardrobe could be the next victim of new tariffs 🧥👟 President Trump’s recently announced tariffs are expected to raise prices on food and vehicles but they might also hit your closet. Why? Because 97% of clothing and shoes in the U.S. are imported, mostly from Asia. Brands like Walmart, Gap, Lululemon, and Nike rely heavily on Asian manufacturing and many of those countries are now facing steep tariffs: 🇨🇳 China: 54% 🇻🇳 Vietnam: 46% 🇰🇭 Cambodia: 49% 🇧🇩 Bangladesh: 37% 🇮🇩 Indonesia: 32% These price hikes could especially burden lower-income families right in time for back-to-school shopping. If you're trying to keep up with everything that happened between the Trump administration and TikTok/ByteDance last week, I've got you covered. Here are some key points: 🔑 President Trump on Friday said he's signing an executive order to keep TikTok running in the U.S. for another 75 days to give his administration more time to broker a deal to bring the social media platform under American ownership. 🔑 White House officials believed they were close on a deal for the app’s operations to be spun off into a new company based in the U.S. -- owned and operated by a majority of American investors, with China’s ByteDance maintaining a minority position. 🔑 Among the possible investors: the software company Oracle and the investment firm Blackstone. 🔑 Beijing hit the brakes on a deal Thursday after Trump announced wide-ranging tariffs around the globe, including against China. 🔑 Early last week, Amazon also put in a bid to purchase TikTok, in an eleventh-hour pitch. 🔑 Despite a bipartisan consensus about the risk to national security posed by TikTok’s ties to China, Trump's initial 75-day extension had gone unchallenged in court. 🔑 That type of pushback is unlikely, legal experts say, due in part to how difficult it is for someone to establish the legal right, or standing, to sue. A plaintiff would have to be able to show harm from the delay in enforcing the law. TL;DR Trump extended the TikTok deadline another 75 days as the U.S. continues to look for a deal. China hit the brakes on a deal after Trump announced wide-ranging tariffs. You can read more at The Associated Press: https://lnkd.in/geywKSni

NEW: Dr. Peter Marks says he was forced out of FDA after refusing to grant RFK Jr.'s team unrestricted access to the tightly controlled VAERS vaccine safety database, fearing that the information might be manipulated or even deleted. Marks gave the staffers the ability to "read" VAERS files, but refused to allow them to edit the data. “Why wouldn’t we?” Marks asked. “Because frankly we don’t trust these m——-f———. They’d write over it or erase the whole database.”
